Broadmoor buying Seven Falls - will reopen Spring 2015

Seven Falls was heavily damaged by the September 2013 flood and has been closed since. The Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs is buying this well known Colorado Springs attraction and plans to spend over $1 million in order to reopen the falls in Spring 2015. See this Denver Post article for more information.

Thank you for posting this. Seven Falls was on our list of "things to do" this July. Sad to hear that it won't be open.

It is interesting, and I hope the Broadmoor will do something more with it. Although it is a beautiful place, it sometimes feels like such a tourist attraction (an overpriced one at that), that I don't often recommend it to visitors.

That was on our "maybe" list for this summer, so now it can be moved to our "no" list.......thanks for the info!

With all the rain and snow we have had this spring, the "free" Helen Hunt Falls should suffice for this summer. North Cheyenne Canyon is worth the drive. Bring a picnic and hangout!

I fully agree with springschick. For anyone who had Seven Falls on their summery itinerary, Helen Hunt Falls is well worth the visit, and it is free. It's a beautiful place, with varying levels of hiking available, including the hike up above the falls which is great to do with kids.
