Copper Mt 1 wk - itinerary help?

Hi all -

My husband and I are going to be staying in a condo @ Copper Mtn x 1 week (1/13 - 1/20/12) this winter (first time to CO!). We both want to ski as much as possible, and we want to try a couple different parks in the area.

We'll have our own equipment & a rental vehicle (most likely). We're both solid skiers (blue/black). Like to have fun and challenge ourselves a little! We're from Cleveland, so most of our experience has been skiing in NY, out East, and places like Snowshoe in WV.

Any suggestions for us? Which areas are do not miss? And how many days should we ski each park, suggest?

Thank you in advance!

Just as a heads up, one thing you're going to notice is that trail rating systems are different once you leave the East Coast. Though not universal, black runs are typically not groomed and most are steeper than almost anything you will encounter in NY.

That said, you'll notice that the trails are much wider and far less crowded so I'm sure you'll enjoy your first trip out west. Copper is a great resort, especially for intermediate skiers.

Breckenridge and Vail are very close and worth a day. You might also want to look at the SuperPass offered by Copper, Winter Park and Steamboat. Winter Park is actually reasonably close and worth a day trip. Not sure how the economics work out on the pass but worth checking.
