How long of a drive from Glenwood Springs to Crested Butte

Wanted to see if anyone can tell me how long (time) of a drive it is from Glenwood Springs to Crested Butte via Kebler Pass? Is there a quicker way back? Thanks!

Going over Kebler is the most direct route between the two towns when the pass is open. You can make the drive easily in under 3 hours. The wildflowers are in full bloom right now so it will be an absolutely stunning drive. Enjoy!

We will be there in 2 weeks. Do you think the wildflowers will still be pretty?

They'll be blooming through August.

How is the road itself? Dirt/gravel or tarred? Hard to tell from googlemaps. We will be driving it mid-August.

Thanks!

The road is fine. It's a mix of pavement and hard packed dirt/gravel.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, if you are driving a rental car, be aware that most rental contracts prohibit driving unpaved roads. This is a well maintained road, but just be aware of the risks if you choose to drive it in a rental car.

Just drove from Glenwood Springs to CB via Kebler. Lost track of the time, but I think it was about 2.5 hours. There is construction in Carbondale, just at the turnoff and again on CO 133 to the east of Paonia State Park. The drive was beautiful (quaking aspens) and easy. Made it into CB ahead of the rain, which we gather has been coming in most afternoons around 4:00.

Sometimes it comes a little earlier, sometimes a little later and sometimes not at all or it's just wind. If you look down valley though you can often watch it building throughout the day.
