9news.com/story/… a favorite of mine as well
I'm going to try to haul my keester up it on skinny tires again this year.
Because what's not fun about pedaling a vertical mile uphill on dirt after a 100 mile day in the saddle? The thing I remember most about last year's (super) gran fondo was the smell while pedaling past the orchards outside of Hotchkiss and Paonia. Asian and anjou pears, peaches, plums and nectarines. In town they had boxes of fresh fruit, so yummy.
that sounds delightful, especially the fresh fruit smells and a great way to take in the sights while getting some great physical exercise/fitness time in.
