We are planning a trip the weekend of Nov 5 for a wedding. Staying at Doubletree Hotel Denver on Quebec (sp?) st. Any comments on this hotel? Any things close by to do or see?

That hotel is located near the location of Denver's prior airport -- Stapleton.

The Denver Zoo (www.denverzoo.org) is about 3.5 miles away, if you enjoy zoos. Very close to the Zoo is the Museum of Nature and Science (www.dmns.org) which is one of my favorite museums. There is an IMAX theater in the same complex.

All of these attractions are located at Denver's City Park.

The Doubletree is fine. You will be pretty close to Downtown. I'd spend a day there. Also you are very close to my neighborhood Park Hill. If you want to try local restaurants look at Tables http://www.tablesonkearney.com/index.html

and

on the same block as Tables is a very cute neighborhood coffee shop Perk Hill.

City Park is beautiful. It is the picture that you most often see in Denver marketing promotions.

If you're interested in wildlife, you might visit the Rocky Mountain Arsenal Wildlife Refuge for a tour. Their website is interesting and will give you info on tours and what you might see there. They just posted pictures of a newborn bison! And there is a population of eagles that winter there.
