1. Re: Denver V Boulder for the weekend

The best way to celebrate July 4th is a Rockies game. On both July 3 and July 4 they will have a fireworks show after the game so you can see the American pasttime and sit and wait and then watch the fireworks show. And yes, you could see it from elsewhere around the stadium, but they coreograph the fireworks to music and it's really cool to see/watch inside.

I would reccomend going to Boulder for the weekend and then Denver for the week, since there is a little more options in launching from Denver than Boulder. May do Thurs-Mon in Boulder where you can goto Estes Park or Rocky Mountain National Park from Boulder and Boulder for a day and then Monday goto Denver, where you can see 16th St Mall on Monday, relax on Tuesday, watch the Rockies game (they're playing the Giants - Barry Bonds so you can see steroids in action) and a fireworks show. On July 4 go down to the Springs, take the train up Pikes Peak, visit Garden of the Gods, and stick around for dinner and watch them shoot fireworks off Pikes Peak at dusk (9pm ish?, makes for a long day with an hour drive back tho) then come back and hit up a few more places in around Denver like the History Museum, Nature and Science (which has a cool Body Works Exhibit right now) or Zoo. There's also a World's Top 10 Water Park called Water World that's awesome for kids especially.
