Cabin Not So Touristy

Looking for a cabin for 1 week stay in the fall. Not in Durango but in the area. Somewhere with peace and quite, not so touristy. Any suggestions?

Try looking at www.durango.org/cabins/

There's links to quite a few cabins. The ones on Vallecito Reservoir might not be so secluded but would probably still be peaceful in the fall. But there are others listed as well.

Is Creede too far from the area you want to visit? It's east of Durango, north of Pagosa Springs.

I think anywhere in that area would be good. We are flexible.

We stayed at Pine River Lodge during the Christmas season 2008. Very nice cabins and very accommodating owners Donna or Debbie. The cabins are right on the Lake and are a short 25 minute drive into Durango. Staying here also puts you close to Pagosa Springs which offers up nice Hot Springs. You can read more about the place at your-family-colorado-vacation.com/pine-river…

We stayed in Mancos, its about a 25 minute drive away and between Durango and Mesa Verda. It was a bed and breakfast called the Sundance Bear Lodge. It had two bedrooms in the house and two cabins. Very secluded but not to far off the beaten trail. It was beautiful and the breakfast was amazing. This place has only 5 star ratings! Plenty of aspens for the changing colors and breath taking views. I hope I helped

Fall is a great time to enjoy southwest Colorado! Pagosa Springs is an hour east of Durango - a quiet, beautiful little town with incredible hot springs. It's located at the base of Wolf Creek Pass and the Continental Divide.

Lodging options can be found at visitpagosasprings.com/colorado/…lodging

Enjoy your trip - you can't go wrong in the area!

Check out O Bar O Riverside Cabins on County Rd. 240

www.durango-colorado-cabins.com/

Outside of the touristy area of Durango, peaceful with the Florida River running behind the cabins.

Very nice!
