On night in Durango just to shower and sleep - advice?

Three adults on our way to a backpacking trip need cheap lodging for one night in Durango. I keep looking at the cheap motels and some appearances and reviews are downright scary. I'm ok with old, even less than ideally clean, but I definitely don't want bugs. So far, we're thinking perhaps the Knights Inn... would like to stay under $90 for the night. Any suggestions on perhaps a mom and pop place I may have missed? Thanks!

Last year I stayed at the Alpine Inn, which is now Knight's Inn and liked it very much--so much that I have reservations there for a future trip. (I'm not sure the management is the same but maybe so, as the owners/managers last summer were fairly new according to TA reviews.) I liked the fact that it was on the edge of town, removed from the noise and congestion of the center; however, the trolley came out as far as the motel. Our room was large and clean.
