With 4 kids under 12 I'd stay as close to a lift as you can. Chateau Du Mont in Mountain House, really convenient or for more affordable lodging look at Key Condos a bit of a walk to ski but closer to ski home. condos at River Run. Black Bear or the Springs. The Springs has a great pool.

The shuttle is fine but you will need to get on and of with lots of gear.

Depending on when your coming the disco tubing at night is a big hit. If it is nor freezing cold night skiing appeals to the kids.

Ice skating, I like the one at the Lake, it is huge, though they do have a tiny one at River Run. Note tiny.

Pizza 101 for when you are too tired to leave the condo, ( only delivery )

http://www.dinnersleighrides.com/ is a few minutes away in Frisco, very fun. Keystone does offer a Sleigh Ride but since I have never been I cannot say anything about it.

Don't worry much abt night activities. They'll be in bed with ski/board all day coupled with the altitude.

Don't forget that there is Tubing on the mountain as well. But I must agree with Texranger....we usually don't plan on too much, as our 7 yr old is usually wiped out by 6:00! Especially if they ski all day!

Enjoy....

I should have mentioned that Key Condo does have a pool, Chateau Du Mont does not. Nice to soak in the hot-tub while the kids are playing in the pool. That is about as much nighttime activity we can muster!

With 4 kids under 12, you've made the right choice by selecting Keystone as your vacation destination. We just launched Kids Ski Free for the 2012 - 2013 season which means, all 4 of your kids will Ski for Free when you book a two night stay with Keystone Resort. Call one of our reservation specialists at 888-222-9298 or visit keystoneresort.com for more details. Ali's suggestions above are great lodging choices. I would also add the Springs to the mix. Located adjacent to the River Run Gondola, the Springs are a great family option. The condo complex features an outdoor pool complete with a slide, hot-tub and indoor private movie theatre.

Depending on what dates you are coming, Keystone has a ton of activities for kids. Just some of the fun includes daily programming at 4 pm which features a DJ at the Dercum Ice Rink, Kids Après at the Mountain House Base Area, Ripperoo’s Village Parade, weekly fireworks, a huge snow fort atop Dercum Mountain, crafts and much more. Visit the events calendar at keystoneresort.com for more details.

In addition to the great activities that Ali mentioned, Keystone offers Kid's Night Out, Thursday's December 20th - April 4th. Kids Night Out is a Resort service that combines the responsible, watchful eye of a childcare professional that knows how to have fun while giving the adults an opportunity to get out and enjoy various dining options, spa, shopping, and resort amenities Kids-Free. The evening is geared towards ages 5 to 14 and includes a pizza party, plus activities like tubing, a G-rated movie night, ice-skating and playing at the Snow fort.

Keystone's Sleigh Ride Dinners or Fondue are incredible family dining experiences that I have done with my own family and are not to be missed! The sleigh ride takes you out under the stars to a historic ranch homestead for a cowboy dinner with all the fixings. Wranglers give you a bit of local history along the way and you end the evening with singing cowboys and s ‘mores by the fire. You take two Gondolas’ to the Fondue located atop North Peak Mountain where a Bavarian band and warm fire greet you. Brush up on your Chicken Dance for this fun evening! Again you can visit Keystone's website or call Activities & Dining at 970-496-4386 for more information.

With so much to do, I know you will create fun memories at Keystone this winter. Let me know if I can answer any other questions for you!

Hi Kerstin! If you notice I did mention the Springs. Great minds...

I like the Springs for all the reasons you mention plus it is a bit removed from other complexes.
