Travel Trailer Campground near staging areas for ATV rides

We are bringing our travel trailer and ATV and want to ride some trails near or around Ouray. Would like to know of a good campground close to these staging areas. We don't have to have any Electric or Water, but if possible would be great. Thanks!

Al of the campgrounds are fairly close, but you'll probably want to drive out Canyon Creek Road...there's a good staging area just outside Angel Creek Campground. Angel Creek is a small campground that doesn't take reservations and I'm not sure if the sites are large enough for a travel trailer. You might check with the Forest Service. The Forest Service Ampitheater Campground would otherwise be the closest to trails off Canyon Creek Road and convenient to Hwy 550 if you want to go south to some of the Alpine Loop trailheads. reserveamerica.com/camping/…

We were in Silverton today and found that they've passed an ordinance to allow OHVs to travel and park in town on certain designated streets. That makes is very attractive to stay at one of the Silverton RV campgrounds for great access to the Alpine Loop. You might want to consider spending part of your trip there. silvertoncolorado.com/backcountry-updates/ Silverton Lakes has a staging area for those not staying in an RV park in town. And the campground at Eureka is in a wonderful location for Alpine Loop access but is further from town.

Also, Engineer Pass is VERY rough. We'd recommend avoiding it.
