Grocery and Liquor Store at the mountain?

We will be staying in Bear Claw I. Was curious as to whether there was any grocery, market, or liquor store within close proximity. We don't mind walking a little distance. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Market on the Mountain is walkable from the base (it's across a street). Not a full blown supermarket but they sell basics. Not sure if they sell liquor.

As Miramar said 15 min walk down from Bear Claw is The Market, but since BC offers a free shuttle , I'd head to City Mkt and Central Park Liquors. Much larger choice from both places and cheaper too.

Take the free bus or shuttle to Central Park Plaza or downtown for the best selections.

Central Park Liquor is one of my favorites. City market ( a division of Kroger's) is right next to the Liquor Store.

Cheers

"remember in CO buy your real beer at a liquor store not the grocery store"

What's this mean - what is the difference.

The grocery store beer is 3.2 beer (3.2% alcohol). or near beer as some call it.

You cannot buy liquor or wine in grocery stores in CO. They only sell 3.2 beer and low-alcohol wine coolers. Everything else has to be purchased at a liquor store.

Is it okay to pop a cold one or have a glass of wine on a picnic in the middle of the RMNP or a state park in Colorado?

The state parks in Colorado can technically bust you for drinking real beer (4% or over) in the park. . If you always keep it low key and don't flaunt it, the rangers at both state and ntl parks will leave you be. In a worst case scenario, maybe just give you a warning . I think 3.2% beer is allowed (supermarket beer).

We've always had our beer and wine at the parks (camping) and made sure it wasn't an issue if rangers came by. Just don't wear a lampshade on your head.
