Where to eat/what to do on St. Paddy's?

We'll be arriving in Steamboat on St. Patrick's Day this coming March. I've heard there is a torchlight parade and fireworks that night, which sounds like it might be fun for our 7-year-old. Would that be worth going to? Any other activities you recommend?

Also, I'd appreciate any suggestions for places to eat beforehand that are fun and lively, but don't draw a wild party crowd.

Thank you in advance!

There used to be a semi sanctioned event called the Bump Off up on the mountain that was some of the most fun I ever attended/witnessed. It is now "officially" defunct.

The fireworks are pretty cool for kids. Mazzoli's in town is pretty kid friendly as is Cugino.

The 7 year old might like the dog sled rides at Grizzle T's. http://steamboatdogsledding.com/

Riggio's, Sweetwater, Mambo Italiano. Avoid Old Town Pub and Tap House.
