In Steamboat "don't miss" what? Favorite eat, play, trails?

This week we will be enjoying Steamboat and looking for some advice as in "don't miss this" type of advice!

Favorite place for breakfast? Best runs that I can get to quick from the base area, a good tree run? Activities with kids? Something to guide my research on the plane!

Thanks!

Breakfast at Freshies or Creekside.

I usually follow the sun from Sunshine Peak to Storm Peak. I also ride down on the Gondy this time of year to avoid the Mashed Potato snow at the base at the end of the day.

The Old Town Hot Springs is a nice break. Water slide is fun for the kids.

Cheers

Sunpie's is a favorite watering hole. I hope it is still open?

Longhorn off Pony lift for starters...you'll find the trees from there. Creekside Cafe or Winona's for breakfast or lunch. The Laundry, Sweat Pea, Sambi for dinner. Sunpies is open, but I prefer Double Z for BBQ and best fries. Tubing, skating and bumper tubes at Howelsen Park. A trip out to the Strawberry Park hot springs, or the hot springs in town.

Just remember the Strawberry Park Hot Springs is clothing optional after dark. I also avoid the Pony Express area this time of year unless we get another big dump.

Strawberry Park hot springs was the highlight of my trip in Steamboat by far. Just awesome.

For night life I definitely recommend Ghost Ranch.

Restaurants: Mazzola's has great Italian food. Creekside Cafe for breakfast. Johnny B Goods had really good burgers. Rio Grande for Mexican.

Pick up a copy of Steamboat Magazine. They are available at all lodgings. Has a list of Best of the 'Boat. Also on line at http://www.exploresteamboat.com/winners/

Everything from Spas to Pizza.

I agree with most of the selections.

Cheers
