What is the area around Ptarmigan like?

I found a newly remodeled 2 bdrm + loft condo at Ptarmigan Townhomes for $145 a night this summer. It has what we are looking for (on creek, pool, on bike path). The pictures look nice but considering the low price, I'd like to hear comments from someone who knows where these townhomes are and what the area is like.

Ptarmigan townhomes were built back in the 70's in an area in West Vail, about a mile from town. The area is mostly residential with a few condo projects here & there so you will find a mixture of both short-term rental and full-time residences. Very safe and quiet. It is a great area. You are right across the highway from grocery stores, restaurants fast food joints, very convenient. You will be right at the Town Of Vail free bus stop. The bike path will allow you an easy stroll or bike ride into town. These townhomes are "cozy" averaging about 1300 square feet, but are cute. Sounds like you found a nice one...many of them really need to be brought into the 21st century!! Good find! Pretty location on Gore Creek! You'll like it!
