Short trip with 2 year old - suggestions

My husband is going to Hartford on business and I am thinking of tagging along with our 2 year old. He would be staying downtown and I would not have a vehicle. Does anyone have suggestions of things to do/safe places to go with a toddler?

Carousel in Bushnell Park www.bushnellpark.org/history/the-carousel/

2 is a little young but there's still stuff to enjoy http://ctsciencecenter.org/

a taxi to the http://www.thechildrensmuseumct.org/ in West Hartford would cost about $15-$20 each way or $1.30 each way on a CT Transit bus (Farmington Ave. bus to intersection of Troutbrook Drive)
