Travel to Foxwoods for the day

I am traveling to Foxwoods for the day. I enjoy playing slots, but I am a bit confused regarding the layout. Is it like most casino resorts where you can park in general parking and just walk onto casino floor? Is there a preferred slot area? Also, are all the slot areas generally connected?

Finally, which would you consider to be the better slot play? Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

There are several garages (at both Mohegan and Foxwoods) and all lead to the casino floor. Both properties have several different casino areas inside them, but all are interconnected.

I prefer Mohegan to Foxwoods, but both are good properties. They're only about 15 minutes apart, so you could easily visit both.

I don't have a preferred area at Foxwoods, as they tend to moving the machines around a lot, so I usually have to look for the machines I want.

At Mohegan I like the bar top VP, but mostly concentrate on the slots in the Casino of the Sky and Casino of the Wind.

Good luck and have fun!

Thanks Diva21...could you tell me why you prefer Mohegan to Foxwoods? Better/newer machines? Better payouts?

At foxwoods, my feeling is the most and best selection of slots is in the Rainmaker/Festival Slots area. MGM has slots, of course, but its smaller and less varied. Rainmaker has an easy valet to use, no charge just tip.

They both have all the latest machines and about the same payouts. I just prefer Mohegan. I like the restaurants, the clientele, the casino and hotel better. Foxwoods is so huge it is almost overwhelming and it can be very smoky. Parts of it are showing considerable wear and tear and I just think Mohegan is better maintained.

I do find Mohegan to be more generous with comps than Foxwoods also.

There is an interesting article in the NY Times about Foxwoods being broke. I grew up in CT and people I know who gamble all recommend Mohegan, Foxwoods is apparently old and pretty depressing. Here is the article

Thanks for the information.

Any preferences at Mohegan on which casino to gamble in or which restaurants to eat in?

The casinos all offer the same games, both table and slots. Casino of the Earth is a bit darker, lots of wood and dark furnishings. Casino of the Sky is brighter, a bit more modern and considerably larger. Casino if the Wind is dark and rather small compared to the others.

Depending on what you're looking to spend to eat, I like Bar Americain, Michael Jordan's Sports Cafe, Big Bubba's BBQ, Pepe's Pizza, the buffet and Margaritaville. Todd English's Tuscany is also good.
