Los Angeles to hartford in Feb

Hi,

Am looking at flying accross the country to see Bon Jovi in Febyary 9th at the Mohegan Sun Arena

Uncasville, CT

So what are the chances of hitting bad weather that time of year and getting stranded on the way in the plane change over? I can only fly the day the show is on. How would i get from the airport to the venue and is there a close cheap place even backpackers near the venue?

Next day I would fly from hartford to washington....

Any info would help :)

Thank you

Wow! Feb can be cold, never know when we might get snow. As far as getting from the airport to Mohegan Sun, try the CT Transit website for possible bus service. Lodging near the casino is not cheap and can be hard to find on weekends, not sure what day the show is on.

Not sure where you change planes but that's your biggest chance of a problem. Except in big storms Bradley can usually land planes. It would be easiest to rent a car at the airport. If you want to rely on public transportation you can take a bus into Hartford cttransit.com/routesschedules/bradleyflyer.a… and try to catch a bus dattco.com/mohegan-sun-bus-service/mohegan-s… but I doubt it will work for you. You can probably get microtelinn.com/hotels/…hotel-overview for around $75 and there are cheaper places in Groton but they are a longer ride back to the airport

there are chances of snow at that time. why are you flying into hartford. I think PVD may be closer if you can get connections.

and boston isn't that much farther a ride if you would get non stop vs having to worry about stops in chicago or cleveland, etc.

so a suggestion may be fly into pvd and stay somewhere on the way to hartford.

I am sure if you search inexpensive lodging brands like motel 6, red roof inn, etc you can find something both in the area you need to be and in your price range.

If you can fly southwest, then you have the most flexibility as you can change flights at any time (only extra fee may be a difference in fare) but that would allow you to consider the 3 airports in the area based on weather and connections.. Good luck.

What us that airport name?

I will be relying in public transport..how does this affect things?

I think planes connect in Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Philly etc I looked on Priceline...

Dallas may be a safe but long connection, TF Green is the name of the closest major airport. Southwest flies into this airport. What time do you get in on the day of the show? If you fly into Hartford/Bradley expect it to take 3-4 hours using public transport to get to the casino. The airport is 20+ miles north of Hartford.

Before you price hotels check the cost of Taxi service and add that in.

How does using public transport change things? Make me question your sanity!!! Is there a reason not to rent a car? ( which has its own set off problems if you are using different airports.)

Maybe the casino can help with transport suggestions.

Its a 20 min. drive from the airport to Hartford and 40 min. from Hartford to Mohegan Sun. I don't see how you can make the concert without renting a car. Buses are not that frequent and unless you want to pay top dollar for a room at the casino you'll be up all night waiting for a morning bus.

I'd book a hotel room as soon as possible too. The cheaper hotels near Mohegan sell out on the weekends, especially when there is a big concert in the arena.

You're probably better off flying into Providence than Hartford, but your only option for public transport from either is a bus and has the poster above said, they do not run that frequently and you'll still need a taxi from your hotel to the arena (unless the hotel offers a shuttle).

I've seen Bon Jovi 30+ times, but even I wouldn't go to these lengths to see them.
