We don't live there at Bonita Village but we do live in Bonita. I suppose you'll hear some traffic noise but not sure from which condo(s). You gonna hear traffic noise almost anywhere in Bonita, usually during peak traveling to/from work in the morning & afternoon hours. Traffic isn't as bad as it is during season.

No construction as of today but that could change but hopefully not this year.

We just returned from a stay in Unit 1402, which is directly behind the sales office. The ONLY sound we heard was from the beautiful waterfall outside the lanai. We were on the 4th floor.

We just booked a 3-bedroom unit at Bonita village for early November.

The people in the rental office have been very friendly and helpful. The photos of the unit and pool look great but I am wondering about the surrounding area and nearby beach.

Is it a safe area to walk/bike? Anyone have any suggestions for restaurants/family activities/events etc.?

PRS, I can try to help ya out a little bout Bonita:

Bonita is a very safe place to walk or bike from where you are staying but Bonita Beach Road is a very busy road during the morning working hours & late afternoon hours going home, do be careful when riding your bike as traffic down here can be heavy at times & make sure you walk during the day & early evening, it just like any other town, walking late night, you never know what can happen!

As far as restaurants go, there are plenty & here is a website (http://www.bonitaspringsonline.com/) you can explore to see what ya like as you didn't say in your post. I can recommend some restaurants close by ya & ifin you have a car you really could enjoy lots of places!

Big Hickory Sea Food Grove/Fishing Nook Restaurant & Marina ~ 26107 Hickory Blvd., (239)992-0991, the best place for fish dining, a little reasonable but very good food. Located down the road from Bonita Beach just before the 1st bridge on your right.

Doc's Beach House Restaurant ~ 27908 Hickory Blvd., (239)992-6444, hit & miss sometimes but a nice place for all three meals & reasonable. Located right on Bonita Beach.

The Fish House of Bonita Beach ~ 4665 Bonita Beach Road,

(239)495-5770, nice place, gets very busy during the early evening hours, reasonable, located on the bay.

Rodes Fresh-n-Fancy ~ 3756 Bonita Beach Road, (239) 992-4040, we buy our fish there & its very good, no bones at all & another good place for dining.

New York Deli ~ 8951 Bonita Beach Road, Springs Plaza, (239)949-3354, good pizza but we go to Naples for our pizza!

Terri's Summer Breeze Café, located in the Publics shopping center, best breakfast in town & lunch for that matter! Locals know how good it is.

Expensive dining:

Roy's Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine, Chops City Grill, Ruth's Chris Steak House & so-on.

As far as activities goes, there is plenty of golf courses around the area, Everglades Wonder Gardens on Old US Highway 41, zoo stuff, plenty of shopping.
