Is there a beach in Cape Coral?

I've seen some really nice houses to rent in Cape Coral, but most of them say 25-30 minutes to the beach. Others say that there's a nearby beach. Is there a beach in Cape Coral? Is it worth going to or should I just head for Siesta Key?

The only "beach" in Cape Coral is the strip of sand on the river down at the Yacht Club. There really isn't a beach on the cape because it sits behind the barrier islands of Sanibel, Captiva and Cayo Costa. To find a great beach just head to Sanibel or Fort Myers Beach. Siesta Key is great too, but will take you a lot longer to get to than the ones I mentioned.

Cheers!
