Looking for local (not a chain) good restuarant

We like to try local restaurants when vacationing...you can get a chain restraurant anywhere. Anyone have a good suggestion for Cape Coral or Ft Myers?

Most of the restaurants in downtown Ft. Myers are decent and local. If you have more specifics on your tastes, that would help us give you suggestions. If you are a generalist, then the TA restaurant reviews will help you out.

In CC there are a few local non chains, but I haven't eaten at any of them.

I would go to the TA page for CC and read the reviews. There are a couple on Restaurant.com and you can get discounts.

We have been to Jimbo's a few times, I think its not a chain. They do great ribs IMHO lol, and what I love, being english...and can't always manage huge portions, is they do a normal and small portion of quite a few dishes. They did have a dollar day back in July, think they still do, when a few items are a dollar each too, which is great if you want to try things, mini burgers, cheese on toast, fries etc, yum btw! We like it there, going again soon for a month so will be making this one of our regular places to eat.

And another one is Papa joe's Italian, I think that's a family restaurant too. And we like it there. Great pizza. nice family place.

http://jimboscape.com/ website for jimbo's with menu

Enjoy

Cafe Cibo, Ft Myers, just across the Cape Coral bridge

Brew Babies, Cape Coral, off Del Prado, just below the Cape Coral Bridge

These are two of our favorites as locals that are close to you

Lighthousewaterfrontrestaurant.com

The Lighthouse offers good food and a pleasant outside, waterfront (not gulffront) porch dining experience. Web address above.

If you want to really enjoy your dining experience - go to Marker 92 at marina Village Resort. Entrees are $20 - 30, but very enjoyable. If you want something more casual - eat outside at the NautiMermaid at Marina Village. I recommend Moretti's just off Cape Coral Parkway for an enjoyable Italian dinner (they also offer early bird specials), $10 - 22 for dinner entrees.
