Condos on the beach - where to stay

Looking to come during the summer and just wanted to get some opinions as to where to stay. Looking for something directly on the beach with 2 bedrooms, kitchen, etc. Are there any resorts that have condos?

The Sandpearl Resort, and the Hilton are directly on the beach, in great areas. They have some suites, but not 100% sure about 2br. Not too much is DIRECTLY on the beach in Clearwater.

You may want to check out the smaller beaches between Clearwater Beach, and St. Pete Beach. Loads of condo buildings directly on the beach that whole stretch of beach. For slower-paced, less busy beaches - Sand Key, Belleair Beach, Indian Rocks Beach, Indian Shores, Redington Beach. It gets a little more busy and active as you get to Madeira Beach, Treasure Island, and St. Pete Beach. May want to check VRBO for these areas.

If you are wanting to be on Clearwater Beach. There are some condos on the Northern end of the island. It is mostly residential up there, but still just a short drive to the main beach area.

I haven't been in the Villas or Surfside - but they are two of the few condos that rent by the week that are located directly on the beach in Clearwater Beach. The units are privately owned so each unit would be different. The Villas have two buildings. The A building faces the ocean and the B building faces the street. I believe both The Villas and Surfside have 2 bedroom units.

Look for private rentals on Flip Key, VRBO and Vacationrentals.com. There are also a few privately owned condos at the Hyatt and the Sandpearl for rent through Flip Key and VRBO - cheaper than renting through the resorts.

We have rented 2 bed condos at Surfside on 3 occasions through Florida Beach Rentals without any problems - last time was June 2011. As LifesABeach said they are privately owned and all furnished differently but the 2 we have rented, 302 once and 502 twice, have been famtastic.
