accomodations while house hunting...need help

in my previous post i noted that we wanted to stay in rockledge/ viera area to house hunt. now i'm thinking maybe we should stay somewhere near or on the water so that we can take advantage of the beach. can anyone recommend a nice hotel that has a good location and also easy access to highways?

thanks so much

The radisson at the port is not right on the beach but is a nice hotel with pool that has a waterfal and a tiki bar, There is also a country inn & suites there too.

Toward Melbourne / Indialantic beach area there is the Doubletree and the Crown Plaza, both are hotels that were completly re-done since the hurricanes and will be your closest to viera while still being beachside. There are a few other hotels but those are the nicer ones. If you are going to be here for more than 1 week check www.vrbo.com and you may find a rental that would be cheaper than a hotel and still be on or near the beach.

From the Indialantic hotels you would take A1A to the Pineda Causeway and follow it to Wickam Rd. You will come out at Suntree which is one of the developments mentioned in an earlier post. Turn right on wickham and it will take you to Viera.

Try www.vrbo.com and look at an apartment or condo, if you are going to be in it a while.
