Cocoa Beach would be the closest beach to Orlando.

In Daytona, for your requirements take a look at OceanWalk, the Hilton, Daytona Regency and Plaza Resort and Spa. If you don't mind driving a few miles to the shops, restaurants etc, there are many more places to consider. Most all places are on the ocean offering oceanfront or ocean view rooms.

Daytona has so much more to offer than Cocoa Beach does, is approx 1 1/2 hour drive from Orlando and you can drive on that gorgeous beach! I vote for Daytona :) :)

Been to DB and CB, have to vote for DB for all the things to do right on the beach. Rent a golf cart, atv, bicycle, recumbent bike, parasail, or just drive your own vehicle to the spot you want to park (small fee).

Ponce Inlet light house is a great place to see ancient sea items (coupons in the hotel lobbies and storefronts).

Great beach for kids and adults alike.

Lots of great hotels on the beach. Check out tripadvisors rankings, the top ten are sure fire hits.

Angell and Phelps chocolate factory tour is a short, easy to do free tour with a free chocolate sample at the end.
