Bit Of advice pls

Hi Coming from UK and going to do a day trip to Daytona ( hiring a harley for the old man as a treat from Kisimee.) I will be following in a car with the kids , please suggest places to see, is there a chance of spotting any dolphins on a beach with the kids? Idf so which beach ?is the tour of speedway circuit good? Any info and tips really appreciated . We will be there late july early aug.

I have looked on fixture list and after July 7th there appears to be no racing is this correct for the circuit? Cheers

Dolphins are a bit sparodic but there is every chance you may see one or two.

If you come into Daytona beachside and then turn right at the beach and follow it to Ponce Inlet there are various restaurants you can go to whereby you are eating outside by the river or the sea and you might catch a glimpse of some.

The drive down the A1A is lovely so your dad will enjoy his Harley ride.

We used to see dolphins quite alot on the Water Taxi to New Smyrna Beach but that doesn't run anymore which is a real shame.

There is a water park in Daytona called the Daytona Lagoon which the kids might enjoy but you might have already done the water parks in Orlando.

There is a Marine Centre in Ponce Inlet that the kids may enjoy. You will get to see allsorts there.

Have fun

We have seen dolphins from the beach near the Aku Tiki Inn several visits in May. They are maybe 300 to 400 yards out. Last summer we noticed a couple of rays just off the beach while wading in the surf.

You could probably see Dolphins on just about any calm day, but you might have to watch for a few hours. There aren't that many of them and it's a long beach.

They'll have the new Joe's Crab Shack open on the Daytona Pier by then. It should be a sight to see. The Boardwalk is right there too, and has its own unique charm, in a tacky 60's beach arcade sort of way.

Ponce Inlet is another very nice place to check out. Inlet Harbor is probably the best place for lunch or dinner there. Just don't speed on the way down.

And, do look at taking a speedway tour if you can, and maybe consider turning a few laps with the Richard Petty Driving Experience if they're running when you're around.

Just had a thought.... does your SO have a motorcycle endorsement on his license? Not positive, but dome states require that to legally ride a motorcycle with insurance.
