very heavy heart here , feel bad for all that depend on the tourist dollar and rely on the gulf i.e.fishermen to pay thier rent, feed thier kids, etc......

a friend at silver sands at outlet mall major store ( manager ) was told that he needed to cut hrs and basicaly go to a skeleton staff.......

and yes i will now not let my lil daughter enter the waters of SO WAL as of today./....

Let's not turn this into a tears fest. We'll be fine.

Here's a bit of hope for ecomomic help but the crisis is real:

BP says it'll start reimbursements and is setting monies aside.

I'm sure a lot of folks are sad about a lifestyle that has been tainted. It's hard to be up. I thought the Pass was blocked with barges??

JM, IZMO and all, I'm actually tearing up as I'm writing this. Let's hope that it won't be as bad as we fear and that they can start getting something done. Not much more to be said...

This is a shame indeed. We're down here now and wanted to do some fishing. I'm not sure that's going to happen now.

Have they closed the pier in FW Beach?
