airboat tour & lodging

Planning a trip to everglades and would like to go on an airboat ride to see alligators , are they easily spotted on the airboat tour ? Also, looking for affordable, clean hotel also. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You've posted in the Everglades City forum. Does that mean you'll be on the West coast side of Florida? Look at the Everglades City hotels and see if that' s what you are looking for. If not, think about Naples or Ft. Meyers.

Lost better way to see the Everglades than on the loud airboats. They are not allowed in Everglades natl Park at all

Everglades adventure tours, you ride in a pole boat, ask them where to stay.

Nice place to stay mid way between Naples and EC is Port of the Islands http://poiresort.com/ though whether you class it as affordable depends on your budget.

It's a great place to be based and you can get 'quiet ' boat trips down the canal where you have more chance to see alligators and other wildlife.

Airboats, for the thrill can be taken from EC or many other places along US 41.

Cances are you will see 'gators and other wildlife from an airboat and the Captain/guide will point them out to you. They will most likely switch off the engine and explain things at different locations along their route.

A good way to see wildlife is to go to Shark Valley and walk, cycle or take the tram tour.

If you can also fit the eastern side of the Evergaldes into your intinerary enter at Ernest Coe and walk the Aningha trail. Take a boat trip from Flamingo. Get fruit and drinks from Robert is Here. There's lodging in budget motels in Florida City/Homestead. Travelodge there is clean.
