I'm not familiar with the hotels themselves but it they are beachside or waterfront area you should be ok. Do not stay in any hotel on or near us hwy #1. It's pretty rundown in that area. I-95 area may have some that are ok too.

Ft. Pierce is my home town. I stay at the dockside Inn on the inlet. They have a site. http://www.docksideinn.com/

Clean, great rates off season a single cost me a total including tax. $62 for a week day. 5 docks to fish from. Stay away from US1. downtown.

Looking for beachfront hotel in Fort Pierce, Jensen Beach, or Port St. Lucie, under $175. Does anyone know anything about Beachwoods? They have no website and their phone no.is incorrect. Also, what about Royal Inn? Any other suggestions?

Thanks

Royal Inn is $89. night. Proprietors are nice. Rooms are clean, modest and nicely decorated. Not on beach. Beach across the street is gray silt, not sand after storms, eroded beach. Army Corp of engineers are camped out with heavy nachinery all day. Would not recommend if interested in beach. Safe area. 3 star at best.

If you are looking at Sebastian check Captain Hirams and also Oyster Pointe. Hirams has a new motel-see their website. Oyster Point is time share rentals. Might be reasonably priced. Also check www.vrbo.com. Might find something in your price range there

Just as as update to this thread, I live a block from that beach, and there is no more Army Corp of engineers, just about 100 yards of new beach. Reall beautiful, the kite surfing is awesome this time of year. :)

Just a word of caution re: Sebastian hotels. We like Capt Hiram's, Oyster Pointe is ok but very "dated" the best feature is the small boats at your disposal. Neither is Beachfront. The Ocean is quite a drive and then across either a North or South bridge. They are on the River/ICW. Not good water for swimming. In Fort Pierce I would only suggest hotels on Hutchinson Island for Travelers. Beautiful beaches! Dockside is simple but has what the OP seems to be looking for.
