Can anyone tell me the best place to stay in the Jacksonville area? Definetly want to be ON th beach with a pool. Any help would be great!

The Sea Horse Inn is a pink, two story, slightly U-shaped motel. All rooms have balconies facing east across the pool to the dunes and the ocean. There’s a poolside bar at the far end which may or may be open depending on when you visit. This hotel would be the most casual and the least expensive. This one would be my choioce. The Sea Turtle is across the street from the Sea Horse. It is also on the ocean. It's an eight story traditional hotel. It has restaurant which at least used to be good. Rooms on the east side (only) have balconies. There’s a pool, but I haven't seen it.. 1-800-874-6000 http://www.seaturtle.com/

The Sea Horse and the Sea Turtle are at the end of Atlantic Blvd. There are a couple very good restaurants right across the street., and others as well in the immediate area. This is the best part of the beach.

There's a Comfort Inn in Jacksonville Beach with a pool.

In Ponte Vedra Beach there's the Ponte Vedra Inn. It's very nice and expensive. It has a restaurant. Nothing in the area to walk to or do.

Let us know what you do and your impressions.
