Please help!

My husband and I are traveling from Atlanta to Miami then plan on traveling down the keys..any advice!!?? We were wondering mostly when the off seasons were and when it's cheapest to travel there. Also, when's the best time to purchase air-line tickets? I've been looking today and noticed Round-trip is around $600 and up for both of us! Whoa, that's a little steep. We really want to go in early-mid august.

Early August can be busy because it's the start of Lobster season. We get a lot of Floridians down with their boats that week. then it tapers off. Cheapest time to come to the Keys is after Labor Day until Thanksgiving (except for Fantasy Fest)

Delta has a non-stop from ATL to Marathon now.

Atlanta is really less that a days drive. You asked for cheapest have you considered driving save $$ and have your own car (you can bring as much luggage and bikes you can fit) gas is pricey. but not that much. If your car is in not too good of shape you could also rent a car with unlimited miles from Atlanta still would be cheaper.

Try AirTran.

Plus, look into FLL as well as MIA.

In general, $300 per person RT is not that bad of a price. Air Tran should be cheaper, though/
