Best beach and grest food in Florida?

Never been...want to just eat good food and lay on the beach...no big resort...any suggestions?

The Keys, being coral, are a bit deficient in terms of beaches. Key West, Islamorada, and others do have adequate beaches (the latter is winter home to piping plovers, shorebirds that are quite picky about where they live). As the Keys have become upscale, the food has no doubt gone upscale, too. Florida Trend magazine does have one Golden Spoon restaurant (Pisces) in Key West, lots in the Miami area:
