Recommendation for seafood shacks in Keys

We will be staying at Key West and Key Largo. Seafood lovers. Look forward to having some fresh seafood just hours from the sea. Since we stay at hotels, no place to cook, some seafood shacks by the water are ideal, not looking for anything fancy, only "fresh", they are probably more reasonably priced than restaurants.

Don't really have much info on Key Largo, but I have eaten at Bayside Grill and they are located right on the waterfront and have very fresh seafood. Not really a "shack", but good food. As for Key West, there are a plethora of great places in the historic bight area that have the ambiance you're looking for. Turtle Kraals, Schooner Wharf Bar, Half Shell Raw Bar all have fresh seafood located directly on the water. And if you're looking for the best fish taco on the planet, check out Garbo's Grill. Not even a shack, it's a food stand on Greene St. Have fun and enjoy the keys!

Check out Key Largo Fisheries. A restaurant right at the fisheries, can't get any fresher.

The Fish House in Key Largo is good, not really a shack either but good. Really good key lime pie there too. Further south, stop in Marathon at either Sparky's in Key Colony or Keys Fisheries. Burdines is good too, more on the shack side but a mix or burgers and some seafood. I think in Key West BO's fishwagon and Schooner Wharf would qualify as a shack type place.

The Fish House in Key Largo is very good and although not quite a shack, it is a smallish, basic, wooden building with lots of fishing nets etc as decorations.

Between Key Largo and Key West are several excellent stops. The Lorelei is a waterfront open air seafood stop that has a great setting and fine food. In Marathon, the Keys Fishery is in a marina and has excellent fresh catch. The historic 7 Mile Grill is just before the bridge and have all the Keys cuisine classics on the menu.

Fancier than shack settings, the Lazy Days in Islamorada has excellent ocean view seating with very good food. Reservations essential in the evening. Around MM 22 is Mangrove Mamas, an outdoor setting for fine dining.

Shack or not, on the water sounds perfect. At Key Largo, we are staying at Marriott Bay. I will need to get some laundry done while at Key Largo. Google map tells me there is a coin laundromat a few miles south on the main road. Is that so?

I'll give you a great setting but, Lor-e-Lei and fine food? Sorry, can't agree there, they are pretty much hit and miss. We save this place for hh and sunset. And last time we were at 7-mile Grill their fish was frozen (the kids still like it for the novelty though).
