which key??

Hello! My husband, two year old daughter, and I are thinking of spending a few nights in the keys. Problem is, I know NOTHING about them! Which location would you recommend?

What are your expectations of the Keys? What kind of vacation are you thinking of? History, good food, great beaches, laid back, parties? Without some hints giving you advice is a shot in the dark.

If you do a bit of research so that you have an idea of what the keys are like and then tell us what you would like to do and what sort of place you would like to stay in etc, we will be able to give you some ideas.

Marathon... check out Sombrero Beach, piece of heaven family friendly and basically almost the only "beach" where you can swim, enjoy the park , go biking, and great fishing and food

Nearby is Bahia Honda another great little beach area, park where you can enjoy.

We went to Key West in November & really liked it. It was our first time there & we always wanted to drive there for the scenery. It is a beautiful drive. We rented a car in Ft Lauderdale. We stayed at Best Western Hibiscus, which is 2 blocks from Duvall street so everything is within somewhat easy walking distance. We also took a trolley tour & that was very enjoyable. The streets there are very busy at night so maybe with a 2 yr old it wouldn't be the best choice. We also went to the butterfly conservatory.
