Nor'easter move out

The nor'easter storm that started last Thursday (Oct 6) is beginning to move out. Last night the beaches took a hit with the high tide and high winds combining to cause some beach erosion. We are staying at a beach-front home on S. Fletcher street and the winds have whipped up some very rough surf over the past five days. Fortunately the temps are still in the high 70's. Amelia Island looks to be returning to normal for the rest of the week. Finally....

Yes, sun returned this afternoon and the winds will slowly die down. Higher than normal tides due to the full moon and wind direction have made for rough surf conditions and beach erosion with still a high risk of rip currents. Hope the remaining sea turtles nests did OK.
