We went to Anne's Beach last March. Guess we caught it at low tide as it was only inches deep and we sunk in muck past our knees after walking out about 20 feet. View was great but YUCK.
Sombrero Beach is supposed to have nice snorkeling from shore around the jetty. It was spring break when we went and too crowded, so the water was too stirred up to see anything.
When are you going?
Pennekamp State Park has Cannon Beach. Right off shore they've sunk cannons and an anchor to look like a ship wreck. We took my youngest son there for his first snorkeling and he loved having something like that to look at.
He moved up to regular snorkeling this year, Sombrero Reef, but we still went back to Cannon Beach one day.
The rocks to the right of Founders Park are a good place to snorkel.
Thank you for the suggestions. My grandson is very excited to snorkel again. Headed down May 9th, right around the corner.
Thanks again. t
