Cash vs Credit Card

We usually do our vacations on a credit card but I've noticed a few places say "cash only".... What's up? Are there a lot of places that only operate on cash?

Thanks!

There are a few, but it's not like the whole town has gone cash. I wouldn't stress about it. It's more CC then cash.

If you have an ATM card, and run into cash trouble - Publix ATM's are free.

most any restaurant that has moderate or higher prices almost always takes credit cards.

You'll just need to carry the "normal" amount of cash for tips, sundries, etc.

Le Creperie is the only restaurant that I am aware of that's cash only. I use my credit card for everything, really, even if it's a very small amount, and have not noticed any big move towards cash only. Even take outs like help yourself will take my card.

Mr. Z's is cash only, unless that changed in the last few months. We use our card for almost anything in KW, but just get extra cash when we buy water, etc. from Publix or CVS or somewhere like that.

B.O.'s Fishwagon also only takes cash. I try to use a credit card as much as possible since it puts everything in one place so that I know, and can report back, what I spend. And I have a cash-back deal so the more I charge the more I get back.

Mr. Z is one of the only cash places. The Green Parrot even takes credit cards now days. If the place is small, just ask before you order, but it won't hinder your vacation. If you're at the bar and it's busy though, cash will get you faster service, just our advise.
