The North of Bahamas should be similar.

There are also narrow pieces of land south of Cancun in Mexico and at La Manga in Spain, but they are both dominated by tall buildings.

I have been to La Manga in spain and it's as I said a narrow tongue of land, so it's similar in that way. For the rest it very little similar to Key West and not really worth a detour unless you are looking for a glimpse of some of the european fotball players that stays there during the winter.

I can't necessarily say we like it as much, but Monterey, California is great! Lots of walking areas, with hotels and restaurants on the water. Wonderful weather, too...especially during summer months when it's hot as Hades everyplace else!

I'd agree with San Pedro, Belize.

In some ways, Isla Mujeres, off the coast of Cancun, would be similar as well. Lots of small hotels, good bars and restaurants, and a nice vibe. Plus, a really, really nice beach.....

I have several friends that have moved to Boca Del Toro, Panama. It was the "new Key West" a few years back. I haven't heard of anyone from Key West moving or vacationing there recently.

I've heard Key West described as a tropical New Orleans, but I cant comment on that personally until we go in July
