The Banyan or Island City House

I thought I was all set on the Banyan for our family's school break (mom, dad and two girls 15 + 17 years)…but then I looked up the Island City House…..and IT looked pretty cool too!

Any thoughts on either of these two…pros and/or cons

The cost is higher at the ICH, but they do have a continental breakfast!

The pool looks nice at ICH, but The Banyan is closer to Fort Zach (which I love!)

What to do? What to do?

Thank you! It IS one of those questions only I can answer! I think we will stay with The Banyan…I like the charm of it and the price is better…..but I had never seen the Island City House before and that looked WAYY charming too! I do believe Key West has me under her spell!

Thanks again!

We have never stayed at the Banyan even though it looks nice. We have stayed at the ICH a few times. It is one of the few B&Bs that allow children. It is a nice sanctuary with a great pool. The breakfast is very minimal, continental only.

We love The Banyan. It is KW quaint. You can rent bikes from them and take the short pedal to Zak T beach.

If you can, request a room NOT on Eaton Street, it gets a bit noisy with the traffic. Other than that, the place is great!

I think Mike T is talking about the Archer House at ICH yes noisy rooms on the Easton Street side.

Never stayed at Banyan, but have always loved ICH. Each room has separate sitting area with kitchen or kitchenette. Have found this very comfortable for eating. In when some want to go out and others would like to loll around the pool or stay in bed late. Just across the street from the Eaton st. Fish market which does great sandwiches and has lots of appetizer type stuff to enjoy before or instead of dinner. The rooms that overlook the pool and courtyard, especially the cigar house are. Very quiet.
