Itinerary help

Hi, we (2 couples in late 30s) are planning to spend 3 days in the area. We are booked at the longboat key resort. Aside from hanging out by the beach, what else would you recommend that we spend time on? Any good restaurants that people would recommend?

Must do is St. Armand's Circle. Upscale shopping and plenty of restaurants.

When are you going to be down there? If you go down this month, spring training is going on and the Orioles play in Sarasota. The stadium is great and the games are a lot of fun. Also, the Sarasota Polo Club plays on Sundays in Lakewood Ranch and has a few more matches left this season; we try to catch one when we can. For restaurants, my husband and I really like going to Mar Vista and sitting under the banyan trees for lunch. Euphemia Haye and Dry Dock are some of our favorites for dinner. Also lots of shopping and good restaurants in Sarasota and on St. Armand's Circle.

To the list of great restaurants on Longboat I'd add Harry's and Pattigeorge's; both are terrific.
