Question about beach access

We're looking at house rentals for our family (children aged 6 - 14). We think we want to be near the south end of the island...yes? When we look at a map of the area, it's not clear how we would access public beaches. Are there places to park? Is it possible to walk from the houses on the waterways? Spending time on the beach is one of our primary goals, so we want to make sure it's easy...

There are access points at two places on the south end of the island. One is at South Beach which is at the corner of Collier Blvd. and Swallow Avenue. There is a public parking lot there too if you do not want to walk there. The other is at the Marriott Crystal Shores Resort which is at the corner of Collier and Winterberry. I am not sure about the parking situation there but I am sure if you call the resort they can tell you. Enjoy your visit!

I would recommend renting a house close to the South Marco Beach entrance (this is a beautiful and quiet part of the island) and biking or walking when needed. The parking lot costs $8, and that can really add up! Look on google maps and try to find somewhere on Amber, Seagrape, Peru, etc.. That should get you close enough!
