Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary in northern Collier County is expected to expand its size by 600 acres on a $12-20 Million purchase to keep clean water in the CREW (Corkscrew Regional Ecosystem Watershed)
Collier County continues to expand its 80% nature sanctuaries set aside.

At least 80% of that is set aside as preserve lands, including Big Cypress National Preserve, Everglades National Park, two national wildlife refuges, one national research reserve, three state parks, one state forest and many county, city and private parks and nature preserves."
