The boardwalk is about three miles south of the Hilton. If you have lots of stamina and time to kill, you could conceivably walk the beach all the way down, but your time is probably better spent driving to Indialantic so you can stroll along the shops and restaurants of Fifth Avenue while you're there.

The flea market is several miles inland by I-95. The Super Flea could make you happy, if you're into that sort of thing. It's huge:

Yeah, you'll have to do a lot of sweet-talkin' to convince the airport shuttle to take you to the flea market! Looks like you'll have to cab it, but considering the time and expense, I'm leaning toward "not worth it" for the flea market because it doesn't strike me as a very touristy thing to do.

You might like to ride the "trolley" that runs along A1A to Indialantic and across the bridge to downtown Melbourne. It comes around only every couple of hours, and not on Sunday, and service stops around supper time, and it looks like the nearest stop is about a half-mile north of the Hilton, but hey, it's a scenic route and only a buck and a quarter to ride. Keeping a cab company's phone number handy, you could have a fun little adventure:

I would skip the flea market. The Super Flea is mostly new cheap junk thats marked up, you can purchase most of it cheaper at Wal-Mart. You would be better off taking the trolley (SCAT) http://www.ridescat.com/ bus to the downtown Melbourne area. Lots of little shops, bars and restaurants. http://downtownmelbourne.com/. Also look at www.floridatoday.com and look at entertainment for things going on locally at the time you will be here.

Just across the Eau Gallie causeway there is a farmers market on Saturdays. brevardfarmersmarkets.com/eauagalliepage.html and there are a few little second hand shops, a couple art galleries and a good bakery there too.
