Anybody going to the Orange Bowl? Where should we stay?

Just found out tonight that KU will be going to the Orange Bowl. Where should we stay? I have read that the stadium is not in the best location. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Also, how far is the stadium from South Beach, or Miami Beach?

Thanks!!!

GO JAYHAWKS!!!!!!

Rock Chalk!!

Here's the official tour site from KU Athletics. www.doddsathletictours.com/bowld/index.asp…

Man, $3400 for two people is a lot, though! I hope some tips on here will help me plan something more affordable. I am sure the new Trump hotel is lovely and all, but I think I can cope with a Holiday Inn to see the 'Hawks play!

Thanks for the reply! I looked on the web site but didn't see that. I can get tickets to the game anywhere from $112 and up depending upon where we stay. I have been looking at hotels close to South Beach but I think that might be a hike to the stadium. Will you have a car? There is a post from an old thead withn info on where to park, take a shuttle, etc., to the game.

I will let you know if I find anything else out, and will you please do the same?

Oh yes, and what would you rather do..........................pick cotton or oranges? LOL!

Whoo Hoo...also check hotels in Ft. Lauderdale since it isn't that far away if you can get better rates there. Go Hawks!

We booked the new Intercontinental Crowne Plaza Beach Hotel in Hollywood. I haven't even looked at a map, but I think we should be fine. We found out tonight that friends of ours from Kansas City (we are now in Pa.....boo hoo) are going to go, so I am waiting to hear back on where they are staying. I didn't want to stay on Miami Beach or South beach with a teenager (boy) and our 4th grade daughter. Too many things I might have to explain if we did. Sad, but true.

Ordered tickets from the KU box office today. Anxious to see where we end up, but we will just be so happy to even be there, who cares!!!

Go Jayhawks!!!!!!!!!!!

Embassy suites Miami Airport is a good choice, I stayed there last year during Superbowl.

If you want to check it out, and still have time, do so 305-634-5000.

Its only 10 mins to the stadium.
