Miami for 3 days. Is it worth doing/seeing...

My husband and I are traveling to Miami on Jan 05 for 3 days. Is it worth taking the sightseeing tour (1½ hour tour) that leaves from Bayside Marketplace?

What you suggest us to do/see that is going to be relaxing and romantic?

It would help to know more about you. Where are you staying? What do you like to see/do on vacation? Will you have a car?

Thank you for the replys...

We´ll be staying in Miami Beach and we are renting a car.

The sightseeing cruise is along Biscayne Bay, Miami's coastal sites including downtown Miami skyline, the Port of Miami, Fisher Island, Miami Beach...

Is it a good option for the 1st week of January?

What else do you suggest us to do in 3 days?

The sightseeing cruise sounds interesting--you will get the best view of Miami's skyline, and Fisher Island is elegant.

Since you have a car, the main sights are fairly easy to find. A lot depends on your interests.

Miami has a big arts and design scene (Art Basel is this week). The Design District has become popular.

Miami Beach, especially South Beach is a vastly popular resort and dining area. It really deserves its reputation.

Coral Gables is much-ignored on Trip Advisor forums, but is an affluent and beautiful older community with its own shopping and dining.

Coconut Grove. More entertainment.

It sounds ridiculous to recommend Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden to a couple from Brazil, but it's a superb botanical garden with one of the world's best collections of palms. Their winter outdoor art displays will be up when you visit. Naturally, they have lots of bromeliad plants from Brazil. There is a nice restaurant in an interesting building in Matheson Hammock Park, immediately north of Fairchild (you have to drive to the restaurant--not walkable from the parking lot at Fairchild).

The sightseeing cruise sounds like a good option. I am sure it will take you by Star Island, as well as the other sights you mentioned. A little touristy, but if you have no other ways to enjoy being on the water, its a nice lil ride.

Without knowing what you want to see here are a few options (especially since you have a car.

1. Venture to South Beach. Either enjoy a little time on the beach, a cocktail or dinner around the area (Lincoln Road, Washington or AIA).

2. Shopping in Sunny Isles, South Beach, Aventura or Sawgrass Mill Mall is always nice.

3. Visit the Everglades National Park.

4. Take in a show or game (depending on your desire). The American Airlines Arena is close by with the NBA Miami Heat, as is the Arsch Center for opera/plays/etc or venture up to Broward County and see the NHL Florida Panthers play at the Bank Atlantic Center.

Depending on what sounds better we can explore other options as well.
