sightseeing trip for 2 U.K. seniors

we are planning a 4 day trip to Miami in February and would like some advice about which area to stay. We will not have a car! Just want to wander and look around and take in the sights etc but am not sure where to start looking! thanks!

February is one of the most beautiful weather months and also the most busy season in town so be sure to book a room soon. The Miami International Boat Show, the President's Bank Holiday, and the Coconut Grove Art Fair make South Florida a popular destination starting 16 February 2012.

I would advise finding a room on South Beach so all you need is at your feet or available via a 25 cent shuttle bus.

Geography for 1st time visitors:

Most visitors want to stay on Miami Beach, a city on a barrier island of the same name off the coast of Miami & connected to it by several causeways. "South Beach" is the southernmost 2 miles or so of Miami Beach. It contains the best known beaches, shopping streets, restaurants, clubs, dozens of hotels of varying size, quality, price & ambience and the historic "art deco" district. .

To be in the center of or within walking distance of the center of SoBe you want to stay somewhere below 23d street (address number under 2300) and on or within a block of Washington or Collins Aves., or Ocean drive which are the main north-south avenues on the east (beach) side of the island. You won't need a car. Mot things are in walking distance & there is a 35 cent bus that circles South Beach all day.
