Maximizing 4 days in south Beach

think of me as your Mom, getting away finally with a girl friend - late April. Staying in South Beach. We want to do some art tour, shop upscale and reality shopping. Memorable places to dine then go out to an entertaining bar. Like the idea of Design District, Vizcaya Museum and Pinecrest garden.Perhaps a tour on the water. Day at the beach for sure. We're fit, attractive and ready to enjoy ourselves with a generous budget. We're open- just fill the time- but oh- start out late morning!

Also what is the best way to get from the airport to South Beach Hotel, early afternoon.

How hot is it there- last week of April?

I am pretty sure you will have warm weather towards the end of April....i.e in the 80's (26C+).

You might want to check out the boat tours leaving from Bayside Mall. Water temps by the end of April should be 25C +, but you will need to check the forecast prior.

Once you get to South Beach you will find plenty to do.....ask your hotel concierge or hotel staff for guidance.

If you plan to go to nightclubs, dress to impress. Two fit and attractive ladies should not have a problem, but dress accordingly.

Pinecrest Garden is a very short distance from Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, which will have outdoor art and special events in addition to its splendidly planned grounds with one of the world's best collections of palms, among other things. It's worth visiting just to see the grand Copernicia baileyana palms from Cuba.

Should you really, really like to see palms and cycads in a magnificent estate setting, and are willing to plan ahead, the Montgomery Botanical Center, also near Pinecrest, gets very few tourists. Their website shows off the setting, which is, like Fairchild, atop a limestone bluff overlooking the bay.

Miami Beach has become vastly more sophisticated (and wealthy) in recent years. Ask about the latest architecture, including the New World Symphony's building (I think their old theater's already become retail) and a couple of parking garages.
