We are taking a trip to Miami in August and are looking for some kid friendly activities in the Miami area. Thanks
budget ? likes/dislikes ?
No budget...pools, water parks, museum, parks...
Seaqurium, jungle island, day trip to keys to snorkel, beach time
Miami is a kid-friendly city w/ miles of beaches, seaside boardwalks, swimming pools etc. As objets says, it helps us make better recommendations if you can supply more info - ages and interests - and perhaps a little info on where you are staying and if you have a car???
Do you have little girls who like bike riding, little boys who like dinosaurs, teens who love to shop? This site might also help you find your way >
I have a 15 and 16 year old raised in Miami. We love to take kids to Hollywood Beach Boardwalk to eat, play in the sand, shop, and rent either the quad bikes (that drive like a car) or banana bikes. Crandon Beach is fun. Water sports on Rickenbacker Causeway. Venetian Pool. Of course, just swimming on Miami Beach has always been a favorite family past time.
The Miami Seaquarium would be fun, also you might want to try an airboat ride. If you want to take a drive to Clewiston (off alligator alley) you might enjoy Billi's Swamp Safari. The keys are always fun too. At John Pennekamp State Park (it is the first key (Key Largo)) there is swimming, canoe rentals, glass bottom boat tours and snorkeling tours.
I have a trip report on Miami Seaquarium and Billi's Swamp Safari on my travel blog:
