pre-cruise advice

Elderly parents flying into Miami 10 April to join cruise on 12 April. Need a hotel for 2 nights. Hotel needs to be reasonably close to both MIA and cruise terminal, but more importantly needs to offer them something in the vicinity on the day before the cruise. They will not hire a car, so will be walking out for meals and leisure activities. Any suggestions on suitable locations much appreciated - thanks.

Downtown, its a bit farther from the airport, but offers Bayfront Park, Bayside Marketplace, both perfect places to walk, eat and site see.

Hotels close to the MetroMover which offers free transportation around downtown could be helpful. This is not a complete list, but would include: Downtown Marriott Courtyard, Hyatt, InterContinental

There are several hotels in the Downtown Miami area. The Holiday Inn Downtown Miami has been renovated and is across the street from Bayside Market Place and near the Port of Miami.

Good luck and may they enjoy their trip!

Thanks to all respondents.

The Friday evening is heavily booked - Miami Heat are playing that evening - but we have booked parents into the Hampton Inn Brickell/Downtown, which is no. 1 on Tripadvisor ratings and looks great ! I'm sure they will use the MotroMover to get around.
