Total Cost for meal after tax etc?

been looking for a place to eat New Years Eve and got this today from Grazie...

1st seating 6:30 to 9:30 Pm.

$90.00 Dollars per person plus tax and Gratuity

Three hours Open premium BAR.

Three course DINNER.

Available special vintage ala carte wine list.

Am I right in thinking all drinks are included apart from bottled wines? I guess glasses of wine will be included..

How much tax and gratuity is normally paid? Never been to America before so thought I better check before booking.

Sounds a pretty good deal to me what with all drinks included..

Thanks for your replies

You will have to pay Florida / Miami County sale tax of 7%.

Plus a normal gratuity is 15% so I happily add 20% for good service. Although on a New Years eve I'd probably go more to a 30% + gratuity. And since drinks are included I'd add something for that too, maybe $1 - $2 per drink.

Others may have different opinions.

As the previous poster said the tax is 7% -- 20% gratuity is standard for good service, and many places (especially on holidays with special menus) will automatically add it to your bill.

One of the better deals if you don't mind the first seating times.

The earlier reply needs to be repeated as many SoBe travelers miss this...

Many (as in most) places in SoBe automatically add gratuity - usually at a rate of 18%. They will tell you that you can add or subtract from this figure. However as I mentioned, it's common that someone doesn't know that and will add an additional 15% to 20%. The good news is that the check will clearly show you if the gratuity is included.

Where you can get burned is if you buy drinks one-at-time with cash as seldom is there a check so you don't know if gratuity is added or not unless you ask - which is exactly what I do.

Hope that helps!
