Casinos in South Beach

I am planning a girl's getaway in October 2012. We are staying on the 900 block of Ocean Drive for 4 nights and then 7 nights in Key West. My friend I am travelling with is an enthusiastic casino player here in WI and I was wondering if there are any casinos in or near South Beach. Specifically, do they still offer daily casino boat tours from Miami or SoBe?

There aren't any casinos on South Beach and no casino boats to nowhere in the area. There are two casinos close by. One is Calder Casino and Racetrack which is about 20 miles away and the other is Hard Rock Hotel and Casino which is about 23 miles. I've never been to Calder but know people who have and really enjoy it. I have been to Hard Rock and it's a lot of fun.

The closest casino is Gulfstream Racetrack but as the above post mentions, Hard Rock is the best one.

No casinos on south beach. You'll have to go to gulfstream or hard rock in hollywood.

And I believe I am correct that Gulfstream has only slots and poker- no other table games- only the Indian Casinos like Hard Rocck have blackjack- and I think perhaps craps.

None yet, thank goodness.

Hard Rock is your best bet for a full casino with all the trimmings. I recommend a 24 hour car rental to get there and back.

Hi

I read your comment :) I am visiting Miami Beach soon. You mentioned that you have been to Hard Rock casino, is it only for hotel guests? I am coming from Germany, but I don´t want to stay in that hotel just to be able to have access to the casino. I hope that the entrance is allowed for general public :)
