It's about a five mile ride along very heavily travelled streets. You have to ride on the sidewalks with no separation from the traffic.

Once you're near 5th Avenue, you can lock your bike in Cambier Park or along one of the side streets. Riding on 5th is impossible due to both pedestrian and vehicle traffic.

The best areas for using a bicycle to get to the beach are those west of US Highway 41. So, if you haven't locked in to a rental, look for a home in the following neighborhoods: Naples Park, Park Shore, and the Moorings areas. You may pay a bit more than Briarwood, but its worth the conveniences that will be available to you.
